Josh Simon offers interesting description for what Gamecocks hope to be on offense
There are many different ways Dowell Loggain’s new offense has been described as South Carolina fans and media alike have tried to gather as much info as possible on what that side of the ball will look like this fall.
But none of the prior adjectives were quite as interesting as the description transfer tight end Josh Simon provided in this week’s appearance on the Garnet Trust Hour on 107.5 The Game.
“You ever seen a really fast race car?” Simon said. “A good one? That’s put together good and you know what you’ve got and when you send it, it does what you want it to do, like a well-, fine-oiled machine, that just goes. We’re going to be like that, that’s what we’re working for. We’re just working to be a fluid team. We don’t want to be up and down and all of that, we just want to (go), you know what I’m saying? So that’s what we’re striving to do.”

If Simon’s version of the offense ends up being close to reality, then there will probably be a lot of ecstatic South Carolina fans because that will mean quarterback Spencer Rattler and the Gamecocks are rolling.
Simon, a Palmetto State native who joined the program as a transfer this spring after starting his career at Western Kentucky, quickly acclimated himself to his new home and appears ready to be a key part of Carolina’s offense.

Simon is part of a tight end room and overall receiving group that could be a strength of the team, despite several new faces.
“We’re striving to win,” Simon continued. “We want to go win it all. We’re not out here just doing all this stuff, putting all these days in, all these hours, this sweat, and all the stuff we go through, all the adversity that we go through just to be average. We’re striving to be something great here in Columbia.”
The 6-foot-4, 242-pound Crestwood graduate finished his WKU career with 86 catches for 1,146 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career. The 16 scores is a school record for his position.
Simon committed to South Carolina in late December, without really even considering any other schools.
