Sunday injury report: Beamer provides latest news on Wells, others
For the first time in awhile, Shane Beamer didn’t have a long list of injuries to report.
Outside of the known long-term injuries, South Carolina came away without much of anything new to break. However, Beamer did have an update on Juice Wells.
“Everybody’s fine. Juice, I would say he’s doubtful this week. But we’ll see. And everybody else is fine,” he said.

Wells, who has been banged up for much of this year, exited during the first quarter of the Georgia game. It was revealed that he broke a bone in his foot, but Beamer originally said that it wouldn’t be season-ending. So there is a chance he could play against Tennessee this week.
After Saturday’s game against Mississippi State, Beamer shared more on a few guys that were banged up. But it seems they will all be good to start practicing this week.
Ahmarean Brown, who believed he would be out there on Saturday, was seen getting ready during warm-ups. However, come game time, he was not out there playing. Beamer shared that Brown didn’t feel great leading up to kickoff and decided to not play him.

Brown went down with a hamstring injury in Week 2 against Furman. He has now missed the last two games against Georgia and Mississippi State.
Another Gamecock who went down in the game was O’Donnell Fortune. Beamer said Fortune hurt his knee in practice this past Thursday. He chose not to include him on the injury report during Carolina Calls later that same night.
Beamer also made it clear that David Spaulding, who had an interception on Saturday, was fine. He went down with an injury and didn’t play a ton in the second half but should be good to go.

Beamer was then asked about Jaylen Nichols, who hasn’t played yet this year. He injured his knee during the Garnet and Black Spring Game in April. But Beamer did say the team is optimistic they’ll get him back at some point in November. He didn’t provide any more updates beyond that.
