Tim Tebow praises South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer
As South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his trio of players get ready for their turn on stage at SEC Media Days on Tuesday, one SEC Network media personality is really excited to hear what the Gamecocks coach has to say.
College football legend Tim Tebow, who also spoke highly of Beamer last season when his SEC Nation show was in town for the Carolina-Kentucky game, has been impressed with the second-year coach so far.
“I’m excited for tomorrow because I love what Coach Beamer is doing at South Carolina,” Tebow said on SEC Network Monday. “I love his excitement. I love his ability to recruit. I love his ability to lure over Spencer Rattler, like that’s a huge win.”
“And I think if he gets enough time I think he’s gonna do some special things at South Carolina because what he did in Year 1, with that talent, was incredible. I think he has got such a contagious personality that these young players want to play for him. And in a unique day and age where everything is changing, and you need a good draw, he is a draw — players want to go play for him. I think he’s gonna do a really good job up on stage.”

Earlier in the day Monday, Tebow presented his list of the Top 5 quarterbacks in the SEC with the Gamecocks’ Rattler checking in at No. 4 behind Alabama’s Bryce Young, Kentucky’s Will Levis and Florida’s Anthony Richardson.

“This is super underrated, but Spencer Rattler, super talented, very accurate, very poised. Will he have a good enough offensive line, a good enough receiving corps? But I mean what a talented kid. He was one of the top quarterbacks coming out. I really liked his game. I think when he plays confident, he plays elite, and if he can build that confidence (he can excel),” said Tebow.
Beamer and South Carolina seniors Dakereon Joyner, Jovaughn Gwyn and Zacch Pickens will begin their portion of the day Tuesday starting at 1 p.m. for what will be a three-hour media blitz.
After going 7-6 last season with a bowl game win over North Carolina to finish the year, Beamer and the Gamecocks kick off their 2022 campaign with Georgia State on Sept. 3 at Williams-Brice Stadium.
