Top transfer portal running back commits to South Carolina

Days after landing on the public radar for South Carolina, one of the top running backs in the transfer portal has decided to join the Gamecocks program.
Utah State transfer back Rahsul Faison, the No. 7 running back in the portal, has committed to South Carolina.
A 1,000-yard rusher this season, the 5-foot-11, 200-pound Faison is ranked the No. 76 overall prospect in the transfer portal.

While the Gamecocks return Oscar Adaway III, Jawarn Howell, and Matt Fuller, they’ll have to replace All-SEC running back and former transfer Rocket Sanders, who is off to the league.

Faison would seem to fit the need after rushing for 1,190 yards and eight touchdowns on 198 carries this season. He added 22 receptions for 99 yards on the year. That came after Faison rushed for 736 yards and five touchdowns on 118 carries the prior year.
The Pottsgrove, Penn. native is one of many players taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility due to his time in JUCO ball.
