Tuesday injury report for South Carolina vs. Clemson
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer gave one of the most encouraging injury reports of the season on Sunday when he said no one on the team exited the win over Kentucky with a serious injury.
But the Gamecocks do still have several potential contributors who missed that game that they’re still monitoring as the annual rivalry game with Clemson inches closer.
Speaking at his weekly Tuesday press conference, Beamer gave the latest on those players.
“I would say, obviously, Juju (McDowell) is out, and everyone else is questionable,” Beamer said. “If they weren’t going to play, I would let you know. DK (Joyner) has assured us he’s playing. Knowing him, I don’t doubt him. He was out there at practice in a limited role today. Same thing with Trai Jones, Cason Henry, Jaxon Hughes. I wouldn’t say they’re probable, but it’s not ready to sit here and say that they’re out either. We’ll see how they progress the rest of the week.”
Rumors had continued to swirl on Monday about the potential for wide receiver Juice Wells to suit up for South Carolina against Clemson, but Wells put those to bed on Sunday night saying that he would not be playing in the game and seemingly announcing his return for next season.
Wells has missed all but three games this season with a foot injury that also hampered him in those three contests.
