South Carolina basketball is set to hit the road next week for its foreign tour to the Bahamas, and before the Gamecocks head out they updated their roster.

It’s the first chance to see what numbers the swath of newcomers will wear plus who gained and lost weight from last season. Here are a few notes from the roster.

Returners

There are no number changes but a few guys did gain and lose weight in the process.

Jacobi Wright is down six pounds from his listed weight last year, listed now at 182 pounds after being 188 last season on the roster. Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk also slimmed down, listed as 12 pounds lighter than he was last season.

South Carolina listed Bosmans-Verdonk at 250 last season and he’s 238 pounds on the updated roster. The rest of the returners gained weight from last season.

Zachary Davis is up two pounds to 194 while Meechie Johnson is up to 184 pounds, four pounds heavier than his listed weight last season. Eli Sparkman gained seven pounds from his listed weight last season, up to 160 pounds this offseason.

Josh Gray is still 7-foot and 10 pounds heavier than last year, the biggest jump or loss of any of the returners. He’s up to 265 now after being listed at 255 heading into last season.

The Gamecocks list Ebrima Dibba, who missed last year with an Achilles injury, at 6-foot-5 and the same weight (214 pounds) as last season.

The Gamecocks’ four-man transfer class has its numbers. They will be: BJ Mack, No. 2; Stephen Clark, No. 4; Myles Stute, No. 10; Ta’Lon Cooper, No. 55.
