Video: 4-star DB Braydon Lee commits to South Carolina
April 19th, 2023. Remember this date a few years from now. Because for the third time today, another prospect has gone public with his commitment to South Carolina. One, that will damper some people’s crab cakes outside of the Carolinas.
Four-star defensive back Braydon Lee out of Maryland has committed to Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks. Standing at 6-feet tall, 160 pounds, stealing another player from the DMV came down to relationships. We’ve said it many, many times before with this year’s recruiting class for USC but there’s truly something to be said about it. South Carolina was one of the first schools to offer Lee. His relationship with the program grew even more this past weekend when Lee was in attendance for South Carolina’s spring game. Which oh by the way, three of the players who were there that day have committed this week to the Gamecocks.

Lee chooses South Carolina over some big time programs including Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Miami, Texas A&M, Auburn and Alabama. Rated as the 28th top cornerback in the nation for his class, he’s the eighth top overall prospect from the state of Maryland.

He becomes the second Maryland native to commit to USC just today and the six dating back to last year’s recruiting class. Joining him on this trifecta of a day for the Gamecocks, four-star defensive back Kelvin Hunter from Florence, SC and three-star offensive Mike Williams from Baltimore, MD.
Looking big picture, South Carolina has now landed ten commits already for their class of 2024. Eight of them are four stars and two are highly recruited three stars. Both three stars are offensive linemen.
