Video Breakdown: DB Zahbari Sandy commits to South Carolina
The wait is over. At least for one South Carolina commitment.
Going into Sunday, the Gamecocks still had three silent commitments who were keeping things under wraps. But at 6 p.m. ET today, Zahbari Sandy went public becoming the first USC commitment to do so for the class of 2023.
A 6-foot-1, 201-pound defensive back from Laurel (MD), Sandy plays in Washington (D.C.) at St. John’s. The three-star commitment chose South Carolina over Tennessee, Ole Miss, West Virginia, and Maryland.
As Gamecock Central recruiting insider Wes Mitchell pointed out earlier today, Zandy also holds offers from Penn State, Louisville, Indiana, Boston College, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Virginia, Pitt and Kansas, among others.
