Video: South Carolina women's basketball advances to Sweet 16 behind historic defense
South Carolina Women’s Basketball: News • Recruiting • Schedule • Roster • Stats • SEC • Polls • Scholarships
You don’t need to look at the stat sheet to know that South Carolina women’s basketball struggled offensively in a win Sunday against Miami. But, if you want to look at that same stat sheet, then be sure to look at the other side of the ball.
The Gamecocks held the Hurricanes to a mere 33 points just two days after limiting Howard to just 21 points in their NCAA Tournament opener. Allowing a total of 54 points combined in those games, USC smashed the previous record for fewest points allowed in a team’s first two NCAA Tournament games, which stood at 71.
