A day before South Carolina football holds their media day, a different Gamecocks ‘fútbol’ team held theirs.

Shelley Smith enters her 22nd season as coach of USC women’s soccer. She was joined at Wednesday’s media day with her husband and associate head coach Jamie Smith.

In addition to the Smiths, four student-athletes spoke at media day. Those players were junior forward Catherine Barry, senior defender Camryn Dixon, redshirt senior forward Samantha Chang, and fifth-year defender Jyllissa Harris.

Last season, USC went 14-6-1 and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals. Barry led the team in goals, points, shots, and shots on goal for the second straight season. She also was tied on the team for the most game-winning goals.
