For the fourth time in program history, South Carolina women’s basketball is headed to the Final Four. The Gamecocks defeated Creighton Sunday 80-50, in a dominating performance that will propel Dawn Staley’s squad to a berth in Minneapolis.

It also marks the first time in program history that USC has reached the Final Four in back-to-back years. South Carolina will play on Friday against the winner of Monday night’s game between Louisville and Michigan. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET.

“We just really concentrated on whoever had the ball, that we were going to all-out pressure them and make them put the ball on the floor,” Staley said after the game.

South Carolina held Creighton to 50 points, its second-lowest scoring game of the season. The 37.5% field goal shooting was the sixth-worst of the season. South Carolina enters the Final Four allowing 41.3 points per game in the Tournament. That is the second-lowest amount in the history of the Tournament. Against Creighton, the key was on-ball defense.

“We just really concentrated on whoever had the ball, that we were going to all-out pressure them and make them put the ball on the floor,” Staley said.
