Video: What has South Carolina's offensive line excited for new season
Despite South Carolina returning all five starters on the offensive line, many on the outside look at that unit as a weakness for the Gamecocks.

“With the connections we’ve built and the rapport that we have together, I think that we’re all still developing and getting better,” said redshirt senior offensive lineman Hank Manos. “We’ve got a lot of old guys but they’re still getting better every practice. I think it’s cool to see how we can develop that with our connections and how we play together.”
Last season South Carolina allowed the second most sacks in the SEC. In addition, USC ranked near the bottom of the SEC in mainly every major metric recorded by Pro Football Focus. While this stat includes the offense as a whole, the offensive line understands it all starts with them up front.

“Obviously I think if you have the same voice and the same language up front it certainly gives you a better understanding and a quicker head start as we start this season,” said offensive line coach Greg Adkins. “We still have to go out and do it here for 27 practices before we play the first game. Ultimately, it does give us a little bit of an advantage.”
While only time will tell one thing is for certain. South Carolina’s offensive line is locked in.
“I think there’s more of a comfort level for sure as we’re approaching this,” said offensive line coach Greg Adkins. “I know at this (time) last year I was a little more anxious that everything was being taken care of. But, that hasn’t changed for me. I’m still the same consistent guy. I wake up at the same time every day. Whether it’s in season or out of season I kinda have the same routine.”
