Every Saturday, College GameDay breaks down the top matchups across the country. As usual, this Saturday, Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Rece Davis, and Lee Corso made up the College GameDay team. The crew is in Athens, Georgia for a matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers with a College Football Playoff berth potentially on the line. However, there also was a little time for South Carolina-Missouri talk at the end of the show.

Once again, Pat McAfee’s scholarship and charity field goal challenge attempt was much better than the hilariously horrendous effort put forth by a University of South Carolina student back in week 3. This week, a Georgia student delivered the top attempt of the year. The 33-yard kick split the uprights with plenty of room to spare, a far cry from the backward Gamecock kick.

The College GameDay crew didn’t spend much time talking about the South Carolina-Missouri game despite it being a ranked vs. ranked affair. The good news about that, though, is that no one picked the Tigers as the “Superdog” of the week.

When it came time for the panel to make their picks, the Gamecocks were as heavily favored as they have been in the betting market and national conversation this week.

When they revealed their picks, time constraints (and a clear outcome?) kept the panel from talking about the matchup. The panel provided no explanations or breakdowns for their selections. However, after splitting their College GameDay picks during their three-game winning streak, South Carolina received every pick on Saturday. There wasn’t any discussion about the game other than the unanimous picks. Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, celebrity guest picker Cody Rhodes, and Kirk Herbstreit all went with USC.

Kickoff is nearing as South Carolina and Missouri will take the field at 4:15 p.m. The sold-out crowd is hungry for a win following five losses in a row to the Tigers. Fans not in attendance can tune in to watch on SEC Network or stream the game on the ESPN app.
