Following a 70-69 win over South Carolina on Wednesday, Florida head coach Todd Golden spoke to the media after the game. Below is a summary of what he had to say.

— Thought South Carolina played well and stepped up in big moments. They played well and were more physical. But he’s proud of Florida for staying the course. They forced some big turnovers and made some shots to win this game.

— Proud of Will Richard for a moment like he had when he made the go-ahead layup in the final seconds. It’s been awesome coaching him for these three years. He embodies what Florida is about.

— South Carolina is a much better team in conference play than the record might indicate. Lamont Paris has done a nice job.

— With Jamarii Thomas being out, USC doesn’t have as much depth in the backcourt. The hope was to wear out USC with the press in the second half. It looked like they got tired. Felt Florida should’ve gone with it much earlier.

— Thought Florida missed some shots they should’ve made in the second half and USC’s physicality seemed to bother them a little bit. The benefit of having a veteran backcourt was allowing them to not panic. The big thing they were able to do was not giving up cheap baskets when playing press defense.
