– Last week he went to his son Hunter’s school assembly and the room was filled with garnet and orange jerseys for jersey day. Shares that he was at his son’s elementary school assembly last week. Said a kindergartener yelled at him “hey coach,” and he responded “hey buddy.” The kindergartener responded “you have four wins.” Says it just reminds you how big this game is.

– Knows it will be a great environment and calls upon the fans to be a factor. Asked the fans to get there early to honor the seniors pre-game. Thinks that ceremony should start around 7:10 p.m. and would like everyone to be in their seats for those guys.

– Juju McDowell is out and Dakereon Joyner has told the staff he will play this weekend. Says they’ll see how “everyone else” progresses throughout the week.

– Beamer on Juice Wells’ post on X/Tweeter, “I wouldn’t count on (Wells playing against Clemson). I met with Juice a couple of times last week. The post he had on X didn’t surprise me, what he announced. If he decides he’s in the right frame of mind to play, great, but I don’t anticipate him playing.”

– It’s tough to take emotions out of a rivalry. But it’s not about which team dislikes the other one more. You have to go out there and execute.

– He’s constantly having communication with players about their future/senior night. He shares that the focus has really been about this week but if any NFL team wants to ask him about some of their players, he’ll always help his guys out.

– Calls this one of the greatest rivalries in college football because of how unique it is with it being a year round thing with the passion.

– Praises Xavier Legette for his growth going back to last year. Doesn’t think he’s missed or been late to any classes and works hard. Calls him a great example for the younger players.

– Beamer said he’ll get home late on Thursday afternoon. His focus is on the game but when he gets home he’ll have a traditional meal and help out where he can but he hasn’t been thinking much about anything other than getting ready for Saturday.

– Optimistic that the NCAA will pass the 5-game bowl eligibility waiver. While USC needs to win to become bowl eligible, it’s important to to keep these things in mind heading into this game with some guys sitting at three games played. Said they’re gonna play guys as if the waiver will be approved.

– Says Spencer Rattler is the same guy that he met several years ago who came into Oklahoma. The biggest difference is just the maturity.

– Called last year’s win against Clemson a special day but he knows that you’re gonna be remembered for what you do this week. “The best days of Gamecock football are ahead of us.”
