What Shane Beamer said about Texas A&M on Tuesday
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer met with the media Tuesday, as he does every week during the regular season, to discuss this week’s matchup with Missouri.

– Beamer calls Texas A&M “dangerous” in all three phases. Points out their kick returner already has a KOR for a touchdown this season
– A&M’s defense is towards the top of every defensive statistical category
– Juice Wells it out, AB is doubtful, and “everyone else you’d ask me are questionable”
– Beamer says there’s a chance that Juice will be back at some point this year but doesn’t want to speak for him. Knows Juice would like to get back out there at some point
– Asked about the injuries and if he’s talked with the S&C staff: hasn’t been just one injury that keeps happening
– Has encouraged the seniors/leaders to communicate more, not just with the coaching staff but more importantly with the players. What he means by that is letting them know that while there’s some goals they had that aren’t obtainable, there’s still goals they can obtain.

– On Spencer Rattler’s attitude: “It couldn’t be better… I feel for him. He came back and he’s playing his butt off.”
– Beamer shares that as the team was boarding for their flight back from Mizzou, Rattler came over and put his arm around him and apologized that he couldn’t do more to help them win. Beamer quickly told him he was the one that needed to apologize to him. The point of that story is that Beamer says Rattler has continued to show tremendous leadership
– While the injuries have piled up at OL, they’ve challenged their OL room tp step up. They got recruited to play OL in the SEC for a reason and that’s a message they’ve been reminding their OL

– With one road game to go, Beamer was asked if he’s thought about making adjustments to any of their road trip routines. Says they’re looking at tweaking things with the schedule for Friday, since they haven’t won a road game this season. But adds that they need a good week of practice.

– Calls their freshmen “great young men.” Shares that Nyck Harbor came into his office the other day to thank him for trusting him to play 57 plays the other game. **Harbor played 57 snaps vs Mizzou; a career high & 2nd most by any USC WR. Blake had 58 snaps.
– Players have a lot of respect for Harbor because he’s been arriving to practice early and staying late to put in extra work on the JUGS machine
– He continues to hear nothing but positive comments from recruits. The message he keeps getting from the recruiting class is that they’re eager to get here to help knowing how many young players are playing
– With how thin USC is at OL due to injuries, he called two NFL head coaches yesterday to pick their brains about how they manage to practice with low numbers
