– Health-wise, as of yesterday, everyone is healthy except for Sandy

– Greg Adkins will be the assistant OL coach, after serving as an an analyst last season

– Thinks the new scholarship number is a good number. Wasn’t in favor of eliminating walk-ons completely

– Have to coach and play better but believes they’re not that far off from being able to do what they believe they can do. Need to finish games in the 4Q. Feels like with the way they attacked recruiting these past few years and the pieces they were able to add via the transfer portal, that they can do that.

– Feels like where this team is at this point, a week before fall camp, is where he expected them to be. Believes they’ve gotten stronger and healthier but still need to do a lot between now and game one against ODU on Aug. 31

– Mentions the benefit that Sellers and Doty were able to have from sitting in a QB room with Spencer Rattler last season. Says it’s had a positive impact, to go along with the contributions that Ashford, Reno, and Beville have been able to add.

– Says you never feel like the depth on OL is enough and that was the case last year with the number of injuries they had. Believes the depth is better because of the experience some of the younger players were able to gain last season, to go along with the veterans that return plus the players they were able to add via the transfer portal

– The key for the OL in fall camp is finding which five can play together as a unit and of course staying healthy. Really likes the players they have in the OL room

– “Winning takes care of everything.” Has learned that it’s truly a year-to-year thing when it comes to the narrative of your program. Said a year ago the narrative was completely different than it is now but he understands that’s what comes with it. Adds that they need to go out there and get it done on the field now if they want to change that narrative

– Really likes all of their running back. Mentions bringing back Juju and Braswell to go along with transfers Rocket Sanders, Adaway, and Howell plus true freshman Matthew Fuller. Goes on to say that he believes Rocket is one of the best RBs in the country and with the work that he’s put in he believes he can be the best version of himself for this team.

– Heading into year four Beamer says each year you learn more and more as a head coach. You learn that he can’t be comfortable if you want to continue to grow. Has “never ever” been as excited about fall camp as he is this year with this team.

– Asked about the idea of Clemson and South Carolina playing on a Friday: Believes it is one of the best rivalries in college football and he likes the idea of giving it more exposure but knows there are negatives as well. Wants to do what will always be best for the university and the fans.

– Close to 300 campers will be on campus tomorrow and some big recruits. After that, he’s giving the coaches and players rest this weekend before the team reports on Aug. 1. Practice No.1 will be held on Fri. Aug 2.
