OL Coach Lonnie Teasley
– Comes down to technics and fundamentals. Need to coach better and execute
– While Teasley won’t use injuries to the OL as an excuse, the biggest thing last year taught him was having more depth. That’s why they’ve been stressing cross training so much with the OL. Guys are working at multiple positions
– Been a big advantage with the OL room having more experience. There’s things some of the younger OL have seen now because they needed to step up and play last season, which has allowed them to be more advanced in what they’re teaching at this time of the year. Teasley calls it “levels,” They’ve been able to move up to another level quickly.

– Leans on offensive analyst Greg Adkins as much as the rules allow. Tremendous asset to have with his experience with coaching the position, both in college and in the NFL
– Explains the challenging part for a freshman to play OL right away in the SEC is the strength and mindset because you’re going up against the best defenses in the body. Calls it grown man strength and mind.
– Big Tree and Baugh didn’t get spring reps last year so it’s been big for their development. They’ve been able to slow down at times and really teach techniques
– Has really enjoyed working with Shawn Elliott. Between the high energy he brings and the high football IQ, he’s been able to pick his brain a good bit so far
EDGE Coach Sterling Lucas
– Kyle Kennard brings experience to the room. A lot of
– Want to treat the the DL like hockey shifts, if they can. Being able to have more bodies will allow them to stay fresher so that come late in the game they’ll be able to put constant pressure on
– The biggest thing about Desmond Umeozulu is his length. Has done a nice job and continues to improve. Has challenged him to put on weight and get to 265 by the season.

Florida to retain head coach
– Players have really respected the way Gilber Edmond has come in and work. Has blended in nicely since getting back to USC.
– Wants fresh bodies since they’re a multiple defense (played both a 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 last season).
– They have pass rush days so they’re constantly working with the DT room. They’re doing a great job and have a lot of experience. When you have a DT room like that it can help out the EDGE room tremendously.
– Has worked with Clayton White at NC State back in 2013. Feels like both have evolved over time.
DT Coach Travian Robertson
– Experience in the DT room has been beneficial. Between the guys who returned combined with the new faces via the portal, guys know what they need to do. Has been very pleased
– Dylan Stewart can play both inside and outside but so far he’s only been working at EDGE
– Felt great that guys like TJ, Boogies, and Tonka would be back with the relationships they have. Excited about what those guys can do as they look to grow their game
– Whether it be a 4-down or 3-down set, it doesn’t change anything for them. Teaches the guys how to play in those situations so that they have the best guys out there
– Trying to get the new guys and younger guys reps. In the spring, they’re not looking at 1s, 2s, or 3s
– Transfers DeAndre Jules and Monkell Goodwine have provided depth, something they felt they were missing last year. They’re done a really good job with taking on double teams and some of their techniques.
