Former South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette ran unofficial times of 4.47 seconds and 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 221-pounder also put up a 40-inch vertical leap in Indianapolis, plus a 10-foot-6-inch broad jump.

The strong testing numbers could contribute to Legette continuing to rise up NFL Draft boards following a big senior season.

“The Senior Bowl had six wide receivers go on day two in that second, third round range last year and we feel like Legette’s worked his way into that same range heading into this draft process,” said Jim Nagy, director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, in November last year.

Legette earned a slew of postseason honors after a breakout 2023 season for South Carolina. He was honored as a first-team All-SEC selection by PFF, Phil Steele, and College Football Network. PFF and College Football Network also named him as a third-team All-American.

As a senior, the Mullins (South Carolina) native caught 71 passes for 1,255 yards and 7 touchdowns.

He also captured the Blanchard-Rogers Trophy, which honors South Carolina’s most outstanding college football player (SC’s Heisman Trophy) for the 2023 season.

Legette was also named a Rex Enright Team Captain. He picked up program season awards for co-Steve Wadiak Team MVP, Steve Spurrier Award- MVP Offense, and Most Outstanding Senior.

CBS Sports recently pegged Legette as a second-round selection in its most recent mock draft.
