4-star EDGE Jayden Loftin ready for next chapter at Tennessee
2025 four-star New Jersey EDGE Jayden Loftin committed to Tennessee over the summer, and he has remained locked in with the Vols since. Loftin signed his National Letter of Intent moments ago, and he is ready to get started on Rocky Top later in the month as an early enrollee.
“It is honestly just a big weight off of my shoulders because I have been going through the process for four years now,” Loftin told Volquest. “I am just glad to be moving forward with it and knowing that I made the right decision.”

Loftin’s senior season was cut short due to an ACL injury, so he will not be a participant in bowl practices, but he is still ready to get to work and take the program from a different angle.
“I will be there later this month for the bowl practices and getting used to the coaches, the team, and the campus,” he said. “I just want to get a feel for the practices, how they meetings are run, and get to know the athletic training staff better because I will be with them because of my injury. Just try to get myself in motion and going early.”

As Loftin battles back from the setback, he is focused and determined to prove to the Tennessee staff that he is the same guy he was when he committed to them.
“I am just going to work and want to show them that I am the same guy they loved on film and that I am not going to let this deter anything for me,” Loftin said of this.
The Scout on Loftin
“Well, to start out, the first time I ever saw him pass rush, my jaw dropped open,” Somerville Head Coach Matt Bloom told Volquest in June at the time of Loftin’s commitment . “I had never seen someone look that natural rushing the passer as a sophomore when I first saw him. Just incredible understanding. Having so many moves so young and being so natural. I think if you look at the beginning of his sophomore year and a little bit of his junior year, he was kind of a smaller player that we didn’t expect to go out and set the run that much, but now with his size and the strength he has, we are looking for him to play at the point of attack all the time and shut people down.”
