Greenville, South Carolina wideout Mazeo Bennett started building bonds with Tennessee’s staff several months ago. They really became strong this summer as he and Kelsey Pope have gotten close.

He chose Tennessee over Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Oregon.

Bennett is the No. 203 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Before he announced his commitment at his high school, the Palmetto state product caught up with Volquest to discuss his decision and what he will bring to Tennessee.

The 2024 On300 ranking ranks Bennett as the No. 189 prospect in the class.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $26k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

He is the third-ranked player from the state of South Carolina after Dorchester (S.C.) Woodland four-star offensive tackle Kam Pringle and Dillon (S.C.) four-star offensive tackle Josiah Thompson. Pringle is a big target for Tennessee and has been here multiple times in recent months.
