Last week five-star 2026 EDGE Zion Elee told Volquest he planned to visit Tennessee later in the month for the Alabama game, but those plans have now changed. Elee announced on his X account on Wednesday afternoon that he will now be in town this weekend for the Vols matchup against Florida.

Elee announced a top five earlier in the year of Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State, but the top-ten prospect is now planning to take a deeper look into some other programs.

Tennessee will get their shot to impress when the Gators roll into town as Elee will have a chance to take in his first gamely environment on Rocky Top.

The standout prospect is ranked as the No.8 overall prospect and top-rated EDGE rusher in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Rankings. He has been a target for Tennessee since they offered earlier in the year.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power had this to say about the standout defensive lineman in March.

“Zion Elee showed the most twitch among the top pass rushers. Twitchiest pass rusher,” Power wrote. “At 6-foot-3, 215 pounds with elite arm length, Elee flies off the ball and looks to be a big-time speed mismatch for opposing offensive tackles. He’s also a hellacious pursuit defender, running down plays from sideline to sideline. The Joppatowne (Md.) High standout tallied 13 sacks and 24 tackles for loss as a sophomore.”

Tennessee is expecting to host a strong group of visitors on Rocky Top over the next month.

Current (non-Tennessee commit) names to know that have told Volquest they are planning to visit campus for the two October games include 2026 OT Leo Delaney, 2026 CB Samari Matthews, 2026 WR Brody Keefe, 2026 WR Deion Thomas, 2026 RB Savion Hiter, 2026 WR Aaron Gregory, 2026 WR Tyreek King, 2026 WR Travis Johnson, 2026 WR Tristen Keys, 2026 EDGE Tristian Givens, 2026 TE Kendre Harrison, 2026 OL Breck Kolojay, 2026 OL Darius Gray, 2026 OL Brandon Anderson, 2026 EDGE Zion Elee, 2026 DL Aiden Harris, 2026 EDGE Rodney Dunham, 2026 EDGE Cam Brooks, 2026 DL Tyson Bacon, 2026 DL JaReylan McCoy, 2026 DL Bryce Perry-Wright, 2026 LB Jakore Smith, 2026 LB Rodney Colton, 2026 DB Jireh Edwards, 2026 DB Craig Tutt, 2026 ATH Tyriq Green, 2027 QB Trent Seaborn, 2027 RB David Gabriel-Georges, 2027 OT Kelsey Adams, 2027 LB Cooper Witten, and numerous others.
