(Caitie McMekin/News Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images) Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson (6) celebrates in the end zone with wide receiver Bru McCoy (5), offensive linemen Andrej Karic (70), and Cooper Mays (63) during the NCAA college football game against Kent State on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2024 in Knoxville, Tenn.

It’s official, left guard Andrej Karic’s college football career is over. Karic has signed with an agent Volquest has confirmed and is will seek to make an NFL roster.

Karic had appealed for another year of eligibility based on playing just a handful of snaps in a 5th game in the 2023 season against Kentucky before he was injured.

Karic’s appeal was denied and instead seeking litigation against the NCAA, the Texas native is moving on.

Karic played in 5 games in 2023 after transferring from Texas and he played started all 13 games last season helping Dylan Sampson set the single season all time rushing record at Tennessee.

With Karic’s departure, Tennessee is losing their offensive interior from the 2024 season with Cooper Mays and Javontez Spraggins both out of eligibility.

Tennessee now returns one starting offensive lineman from a season ago in Lance Heard at left tackle.

Offensive line coach Glen Elarbee took two interior offensive lineman in the winter portal window with Arizona transfer Wendall Moe and Notre Dame transfer Sam Pendleton

As for the third interior lineman, Tennessee will turn to the high school ranks with guys on their current roster as William Satterwhite, Max Anderson, and Jesse Perry will compete at the guard/center positions along with Sham Umarov, Ayden Bussell and others.

The Vols enter spring practice number five with head coach Josh Heupel in two weeks (March 7).
