Arizona State transfer Omarr Norman-Lott went into the transfer portal last year but decided to remain with the Sun Devils. Tennessee went after him then and did so again when he entered again last month. This time, Rodney Garner got his man.

“Their persistence in going after me and there is a lot of straight shooters on the coaching staff,” Norman-Lott said about his decision. “There are genuine people and I feel like can connect with them. Those were some of the reasons.”

Garner and his reputation for getting the most out of his players legendary as he routinely puts players in the NFL. He and Norman-Lott jived and that made the decision easy.

“It was definitely a pleasant feeling know he was true in what he said,” Norman-Lott said. “That in itself put him higher on the board with where I was when I entered again.

“When I asked for an answer he is going to tell me the truth. He isn’t going to shuffle stuff around. He is going to give me the straight shot truth. Banks, the straight shot truth and coach Heupel the same thing. Just good genuine people.”
