Boo Carter back on Rocky Top

Saturday saw a big Tennessee win and also saw the return of Boo Carter to Tennessee. The Vol commit was happy to see a packed stadium with a big orange victory,
“It was great,” Carter said. “It was a great atmosphere. I liked how the defense played. The defense played really really good. The offense played good too and Joe Milton stepped up and did his thing. I feel like the coaches put them in a very good position.”
Being Boo Carter inside Neyland Stadium or out on the Vol walk is something to behold. The fans love him and he enjoys the interaction.
“It’s great,” Carter said. “It’s Knoxville and there is a lot of love up here. Fans will show you love regardless. I know I’m going to stand out wherever I go. Me coming here and everyone screaming my name wherever I’m at, I like it. I enjoy it and want to see it on the field.”
Carter is a thrill a minute on both sides of the ball and on special teams at the high school level. Tennessee is mainly recruiting him to play defense but getting the ball in his hands is something they would love to do including special teams.
“The ball is going to be in my hands because they want me on both but I’m going to be on defense more than offense,” Carter said.
“When the ball is in my hands I can make a lot of good things happen. I can get good field position or I can just score. As long as it comes to my hands, that’s what I’m looking for.”

Carter spent a large part of his time back in town with 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton. Those two have been on a few trips lately and Carter is really working the IMG lineman extremely hard.

“This is my second or third time with him,” Carter said. “Every time we go on a visit, we connect like real tight. I told him to come to Tennessee when we were at Colorado so he came and enjoyed it. He loved it and the fans showed him a lot of love and we will see what it turns out to.”
Carter took that visit to Colorado but says he is really solid to Tennessee and talked it over with Josh Heupel before he went.
“I’m a loyal guy,” Carter said. “I told coach Heup I was just going for the experience. I had a great experience and I enjoyed myself.
Carter and Bradley Central are undefeated on the season and picked up a 28-20 win over Farragut Friday night. Carter made a fantastic, one-handed touchdown grab that put the Bears out in front to stay. It was a snag that brought out the best in him.
“I got a lot of gears in me,” Carter said. “When I saw the ball in the sky and I knew it was going far in my head I knew I had to kick another gear in and let it out. I put on hand out and it was done.”
Carter plans on being back in town for the Texas A&M game in two weeks.
