CHARLOTTE — Tennessee Football will be short at running back Saturday night against North Carolina State. Sophomore running back Cam Seldon is inactive for the Vols for the 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time kickoff in the Duke’s Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium. Junior linebacker Kalib Perry is also inactive for Tennessee.

The game can be seen on ABC with ReceDavis and Kirk Herbstreit will be on the call for ABC, with Holly Rowe as the sideline reporter. The game can also be streamed on the ESPN app.

Tennessee last week rushed 46 times for 304 yards and three touchdowns as a team in the 69-3 win over Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium, with Seldon running seven times for 40 yards.

Junior starter Dylan Sampson ran 12 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns and redshirt freshman DeSean Bishop had seven carries for 47 yards. Khalifa Keith ran 10 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and freshman Peyton Lewis ran four times for 14 yards.

Seldon, the 6-foot-2, 222-pound sophomore, suffered a shoulder injury during spring practice in March but was cleared for contact during fall camp.

Lewis, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound freshman and former four-star prospect, underwent shoulder surgery after enrolling at Tennessee in January.

Seldon rushed 13 times for 55 yards in Tennessee’s 35-0 win over Iowa in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day, backing up Sampson after Jaylen Wright opted out to begin preparing for the NFL Draft.

Now Sampson is the starter entering his junior season, with Seldon, Lewis, Keith and redshirt freshman Bishop providing the depth at the position.

Lewis was a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class out of Salem High School in Salem, Va. He was ranked No. 64 overall in the On3 Ratings, ranked as the No. 4 running back in the country and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Virginia.
