4-star Charles House Commits To Tennessee And Details His Decision

CHARLOTTE — Tennessee picked up a second commitment this week when Charles House joined the 2025 class on the On3 Recruits YouTube channel Saturday afternoon. Volquest caught up with House before he announced to talk about his decision to wear orange.

“Just the way everyone makes you feel right at home,” House said about his choice. “They treat you like a big family and I just wanted to be a part of it.”

Tennessee coach Josh Heupel focused on House through the process. He stopped in to see House at North Mecklenburg back in January and spent plenty of time with House on his official last weekend.

“He is going to let you know what it is and keep it real with you,” House said. “The way he talks real passionate about Tennessee and what he is going to do at Tennessee in the next years.”

It was a group effort to land House.

He told Volquest back in February that coach Chop (Levorn Harbin) was instrumental in his recruitment and that stood to be true during the decision process.

“He called me every day checking up on me, asking how I was doing in school,” House said. “Wanted me to come down there and I came down there and it was everything he was telling me about.”

And then there is defensive line coach Rodney Garner, who dropped by to check on him this spring.

“He put so many guys in the league and he could probably do the same thing for me,” House said. “I want to go out there and show him what I can do and see what he is going to do for me.”

Other schools will continue to recruit House but there is a peace in knowing he has found his spot. It’s now time to focus on his craft between the white lines.

“Going out there with efficiency and seeing the ball and tracking the ball,” House said. “I like getting a sack and making the crowd go wild but I’m also down to stop the run to help my team.”

Former Vol Daryl Vereen is the new coach at his Alma mater and he couldn’t be happier to see House in orange.

“He is happy,” House said with a smile. “He is grinning ear to ear. He is loving it.”
