Dynamic athlete Condredge Holloway elected into National College Baseball Hall of Fame

While most remember Condredge Holloway for being a star quarterback for the Vols and a torch bearer for the Southeastern Conference on the gridiron, the dynamic athlete was also a star on the diamond for Tennessee in the 1970s.
Now, Holloway is one of seven individuals who will be inducted into the Class of 2022 National College Baseball Hall of Fame on February 3 at the College Baseball Night of Champions celebration in Omaha, Nebraska. A Tennessee Baseball Hall of famer in 2000, Halloway became just the third Volunteer baseball player ever to have his No. 1 jersey retired in April of 2015.
The short stop finished his collegiate career with 147 hits in 417 at-bats, totaling a .353 average with eight career home runs, 63 RBI, 23 stolen bases, 15 doubles, two triples and 104 runs scored in 119 career games.
As a senior in 1975, the athlete earned All-American honors from The Sporting News and was named All-SEC after leading the conference with a .396 batting average. Holloway’s 27-game hit-streak that season still stands as the longest in program history.
Joining fellow VFL, and two-sport athlete Todd Helton, Holloway is just the second Tennessee baseball player ever to be inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
On the football field, Holloway became the first black quarterback to play in the Southeastern Conference in 1972 and went on to become an All-SEC performer.
