Elite in-state QB, top Vols target George MacIntyre releases top schools list
Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy 2025 quarterback George MacIntyre is one of the most sought after quarterbacks in America. Moments ago via social media, the elite prospect announced his shortlist of favorites, including the Vols.
MacIntyre, who holds over 35 Division 1 offers, trimmed his list to ten, as he continues to work through the recruiting process.

Coming off the announcement, MacIntyre is set to return to Knoxville this weekend to check out the Vols as they take on Texas A&M.
“I think I’ve seen what Tennessee has done with the ’24 class, kind of locking down the state,” MacIntyre told On3 in September. “All the guys that they wanted to get, they got mostly all of them. So that’s impressive for me to see. And then being an in-state kid and growing up, I wouldn’t say I’m a Tennessee fan but I’ve always watched from afar, and seeing the change from when they were bad to when they were good, and seeing how special that fan base can be when they’re good like they are now, it’s definitely really cool.”
Tennessee was able to hit the road to start evaluating recruits on September 1st, which was the night before the Vols season-opener against Virginia, and Josh Heupel was on the sidelines that Friday night to watch MacIntyre play.

“It means a lot me for him to be out here,” MacIntyre told Volquest at the time. “I know they have an early, 11am game tomorrow, so for him to be here means a lot to me.”
The bond with the Tennessee staff has remained strong, and the Vols have made MacIntyre feel like a priority.
“I have been talking to Coach Heupel, Coach Halzle, or Coach Mitch (Militello), almost every day,” MacIntyre told Volquest in September. “They told me Coach Heupel was coming, and it has been great.”
