Fast-rising in-state DB Miles Brown reacts to 'dream' offer from Tennessee

Westview High School standout defensive back Miles Brown’s recruitment has started to pick up pace since the end of his sophomore season, and on Thursday, it got a significant boost, as he picked up an offer from Tennessee during a visit to Rocky Top.
“It is great,” Brown told Volquest of the offer. “I have always looked up to a school like Tennessee, so it is just great hearing this news. Really it is a dream come true. You always dream about this stuff so for it to come true is great. This place is just great, so to be a part of it would be so special.”
The fast-rising prospect enjoyed getting to spend time with veteran assistant coach Willie Martinez during the day.
“It is great just being able to take one-on-one feedback and hear what you need to work on,” Brown said of the time spent with Martinez. “You need someone that is going to be honest with you, and he is going to be truthful.”
Martinez was clear in what he liked about Brown’s game.
“He has told me that I have fluid hips and I stay patient in my backpedal,” Brown said of Martinez message to him on this. “I stay patient at the line of scrimmage and dropping in my zone. The stuff that you have to have to be a good DB.”

The in-state prospect has been impressed with what Tennessee has built under Josh Heupel.
“The atmosphere is great, and I know they have a great education system and graduate a lot of kids,” the fast-rising prospect said. “You always want to be able to get an education and obviously they are good at football.”
Having his dad alongside for the offer was a special moment for him as well.
“It is awesome because we talk about that stuff, and I can be happy and so can he, so that is great,” Brown said of this. “I am sure there was a big smile on his face.”
As Brown picks up this offer, it is a clear indicator that his hard work is starting to pay off.
“I feel like it is,” Brown said of his recruiting starting to take off. “The training and hard work is starting to pay off. All the days of hard work is coming together and paying off.”
“It is awesome because Graham is a Power 4 quarterback, so getting those looks every day is great,” Brown said of this. “When you come to college, you are going to get those looks every day.”
