Final game stats for Tennessee's 2024 recruiting class
Tennessee introduced 27 players to their 2024 class on Wednesday, including multiple headliners such as Mike Matthews, Boo Carter, Jake Merklinger, and Jordan Ross. With the high school season in the books, Volquest takes a look at the final stat roundup (for those made available) for the 2024 class.
QB Jake Merklinger
Merklinger was stellar during his senior season at Calvary Day School. He completed 163 of 226 attempts for 3,028 yards. He threw 38 touchdowns to just two interceptions on the season. Merklinger was also a threat with his legs, as he toted the rock for 439 yards and 11 touchdowns.
RB Peyton Lewis
Lewis was a star on the field for Salem (Va.) during his 2023 season. Lewis rush for 2,097 yards and 30 touchdowns on 207 carries. Lewis was named to 1st team All-State and Offensive Player of the Year for the 4A Classification.
Matthews finished out a record-setting career at Parkview High School (Ga.) with a strong senior season. Matthews caught 39 passes for 751 yards and nine touchdowns. He also recorded 48 total tackles and a tackle for loss.
Staley transferred to Strom Thurmond (S.C.) for his final season at the prep level, and he was a mismatch for defenders week in and out. Staley caught 66 passes for 1,166 yards and 14 touchdowns.
ATH Boo Carter
Carter was exceptional on the gridirion en route to earning the title of Mr. Football in Class 6A. He ran for seven touchdowns and 362 yards, while adding another 1,245 yards and 16 touchdowns on 78 reception. The two-way star did not lack on the defensive side of the football eithet. He racked up 101 total tackle, six tackles for loss, three sacks and two interceptions.
Tennessee’s latest high school addition to the class help lead Junipero Serra (Calif.) to a 12-1 season. He led the team in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Harrison hauled in 22 passes for 452 yards and five touchdowns.
EDGE Jordan Ross
Tennessee signee Jordan Ross was phenomenal during his senior season at Vestavia Hills (Ala.) Ross racked up 72 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and 12.5 sacks in just twelve games.

EDGE Kellen Lindstrom
Lindstrom had a strong season as a defender as well. He racked up 109 tackles, ten tackles for loss, 13 sacks and five forced fumbles as he helped Glendale High School (Mo.) to a playoff berth.
DB Marcus Goree
Goree’s 2023 season stats are not currently available, but during his time at Bradley Central, he frequently filled the stat sheet. He finished his career with 231 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, three sacks and 38 pass break ups.
Beasley finished 2023 with four total touchdowns, three interceptions and 41 total tackles. Over the course of his career, he forced 29 total turnovers, including 24 interceptions.
Spillman finished his senior season at Lipscomb Academy with 87 total tackles, 27 tackles for loss, three pass break ups, three sacks and a forced fumble. He also scored one touchdown during his senior campaign.
Gentle was a vital part of McCallie’s success in 2023 yet again. He recorded 73 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and forced a fumble.
DL Jamal Wallace
Wallace made an impact for Sierra Community College this past fall, as he recorded 39 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 10.5 tackles for loss.
