Four-star RB, Vols Target Braylen Russell announces finalists, plans for commitment
Benton (Ark.) Benton High School four-star running back Braylen Russell has planned to announce his commitment on his birthday for sometime now. The versatile, downhill running back will announce his decision at 7:30 Eastern Time, per his recent social media post.
Russell will decide between Tennessee, Arkansas and South Carolina when he publicly reveals his commitment later this month.
The Vols have long been a strong contender in the recruitment of the coveted running back, in large part because of his relationship with Tennessee Running Backs Coach Jerry Mack.
“It was great being around them again,” Russell told Volquest following his official visit. “It is always a good time being around them and catching up with them. They are great people and great coaches. I enjoyed being out on the lake and just having a good time.”
Tennessee wants to pair Russell with current commitment Peyton Lewis to create a “Thunder and Lightning” type duo in this class. Russell and Lewis were able to connect on their official visit during the weekend of June 23rd.
