George MacIntyre reacts official visit weekend at Tennessee
Tennessee pledge George MacIntyre was back on Rocky Top this weekend as the lead recruiter for the coaching staff. After his visit, he detailed his time with Volquest.
“I enjoyed my time on campus, getting to see how the staff works. I was here for three days, that’s the longest visit I’ve ever taken here. It was just really good to get a more in-depth look at Tennessee,” MacIntyre said of his trip.
He bounced around all weekend as he recruited players on both sides of the ball. Selling Tennessee has become easy and second nature to him in recent months.
“I think we’re really close on a lot of guys. We’ve got to close them. A lot of them have one more OV and then will commit in July so we need to stay in the No. 1 spot for these last couple of weeks,” MacIntyre said.
“I feel like a lot of the guys bonded this weekend and I think they know that if they were to come here they’d be coming into a family environment.”
Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders is one prospect who was in town this weekend that Vol fans are anxiously awaiting a decision from. MacIntyre, understandably, has a vested interest in Sanders’ recruitment as well.
“I hung out with Dave again, he’s a great guy, great player. He knows that we want him bad. He knows that this should be a place for him. I can’t wait for him to get to a decision date,” MacIntyre said of Sanders.
