Golf Vols post good opening day at SEC fall event

Tennessee junior Jake Hall sits 8 under after 36 holes on the opening day of the Fall SEC golf event in Alabama. The Halls native posted 67-65 on a day that saw him end his rounds in 4th place.

The golf Vols finished the opening day in 3rd place behind Auburn and Vanderbilt. The Vols shot 23 under for the opening two rounds heading into tomorrow’s final round.

Redshirt freshman Lance Simpson is at 7 under after a second round 65 that saw him make seven birdies.

Junior Bryce Lewis is at 6 under after two rounds as he looks to build on his very successful summer of golf.

Tennessee will tee off at Old Overton tomorrow morning and finish out stroke play.

Each school with then be paired off to face another in a one round match play event on Tuesday.
