Greeneville speedster Zaydyn Anderson details Tennessee pledge

It was earlier this spring when Tennessee made the decision to offer Greeneville athlete Zayden Anderson. On Saturday, he made the decision to commit to Rocky Top and detailed his choice with Volquest ahead of his announcement.
“It’s home as I grew up just an hour away,” Anderson said. “I came up here on my OV and it just felt like family.
“It just felt like I needed to come here. Just an hour away and home sweet home. Hometown kid.”
Anderson committed to Josh Heupel and company last Sunday but chose to wait till Saturday to announce so he could it on his Grandfathers birthday.
“It feels good because he always believed in me,” Anderson said. “He just loves me to death so it feels good to do it on his birthday.”
He has always dreamed about wearing the orange and white and putting the jerseys on during the photo shoot is when it started to set in. He has built bonds with the staff and he likes the defensive unit.

“They all just keep it real,” Anderson said. “I was in a meeting with ET (Earnest Thomas III) and he was watching my film and telling me what I need to work on. They all just keep it real and the chemistry comes together as a defense.”
So what is Tennessee getting in the state track champ?
“A lockdown corner,” Anderson said. “Speed. I think I can be faster. During track season I had a pulled hamstring so I think I can be faster. Just development in getting me bigger and faster and stronger.”
Now he turns his attention to his senior season.
“I’m excited about it,” Anderson said. “Just keep working in practice every day and get to game 15.”
