For the second time in three weeks, St. Louis, Missouri wide receiver Ryan Wingo was on hand to see Tennessee play a big football game. The first time it was on the road at Pittsburgh. This time it was on Rocky Top where he visited this summer to catch the Florida game.

“It was good,” Wingo said. “The visit in the summer was good too but to come up for the GameDay visit and see the fans and how crazy they are stood out a lot. It was just a great visit.”

Having been at two games through the first month, Wingo has seen different things that impress him.

“Watching they’re offense and how high-powered they are,” Wingo said. “When I first watched them they had Ced playing and how they utilized and targeted him. This week, he was out and other receivers stepped up and they spread it around. Just being able to see how they spread it out is a great thing for receivers.”

Wingo was in Knoxville this summer and he got to spend plenty of one-on-one time with Kelsey Pope. That relationship has continued to blossom as they have more in-depth talks.

“Me and coach Pope are cool,” Wingo said. “He is a great coach and he is real passionate about coaching. He is just a fun person to be around.”

The same goes for head coach Josh Heupel, who he hears more and more from.

“Coach Heupel is another great dude,” Wingo said. “Since September 1st, we have been talking a lot over text and sometimes on the phone. When we talk it’s normally about the offense or about how I’m doing with my season.”

So having been around it, where would Wingo put Tennessee compared to where he had them this summer?

“Where they are is really the same space because I had them high,” Wingo said. “I’m not going to say a specific spot but they are up there.”

Wingo considers Tennessee a serious contender for his signature come next December, but there is still a long way to go and many more visits to take for the coveted wide receiver.

His list of offers is one he could only dream about just a few years ago. That dream has turned into a reality as he has numerous options across college football.

“I think the main thing will be being able to come in and work for a spot,” Wingo said. “I don’t want to be given nothing, but be able to come in and learn from the older guys and eventually get a few snaps and work my way up to a starting position my first year. You want good coaches where you can get developed.”

He is the fourth-ranked wideout behind Miami Chaminade-Madonna Prep five-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Temple (Texas) Lake Belton four-star receiver Micah Hudson.

Wingo has an On3 NIL Valuation of $120K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Ryan Wingo On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Ryan Wingo:

“An electric playmaker who picks up yards in a hurry. Ran a 10.64 100m, 21.46 200m and a 50.72 400m in 2022. The ability to defeat the angle with the ball in his hands is among the best in the 2024 cycle early on. Can take the top off of defenses with ease but is not just a straight line player. His ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces and finish runs is rare for someone with his long speed. Has a chance to be an impact player at the next level. Older brother is former Arkansas running back Ronnie Wingo.”
