Miami transfer OT target sets announcement for Monday night
With two transfer portal targets set to announce their commitments Monday afternoon – add a third to the list as Miami transfer offensive tackle John Campbell tweeted he’ll make his call at 7 o’clock eastern time.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder entered the transfer portal on December 16 and plans to choose between Tennessee, Florida and Florida State. All three programs have hosted him on official visits recently, including Tennessee and Florida this past weekend.
Campbell, a former three-star in the 2018 class, started at left tackle this season for the Hurricanes after seeing plenty of action as a redshirt freshman and sophomore in 2019-2020. The tackle missed the entirety of the 2021 campaign recovering from leg surgery. This will be Campbell’s sixth year in college.
Vols have added four players out of NCAA Transfer Portal so far
The Vols over the last five weeks have added four players out of the NCAA Transfer Portal — UC Davis tight end McCallan Castles, Indiana kicker Charles Campbell, Texas offensive lineman Andrej Karic and BYU linebacker Keenan Pili.
Castles, a 6-foot-6, 245-pound tight end, was Tennessee’s first commitment out of the transfer portal in the 2023 class. Castles was second-team All-Big Sky after catching 32 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns. He had 27 catches for 363 yards and four touchdowns in 2021, after catching 12 passes for 194 yards in the COVID spring season in 2021, leading to first-team All-Big Sky honors.
