Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met the media on Monday to look back at the loss to South Carolina and to look ahead to Vanderbilt.

Tennessee saw its playoff hopes go down in flames with a 63-38 loss at South Carolina.

It was a rough night for the entire team which includes losing Hendon Hooker to a season ending ACL tear.

Joe Milton will now become the starting quarterback heading into the season finale.

The Vols also ended up with multiple injuries on both sides of the ball.

Tennessee and Vanderbilt have split the last 10 meetings in this series of in-state rivals. The Commodores will be playing for a bowl eligibility after winning their last two games against Kentucky and Florida.

There will be many questions heading into this match up with the Commodores and Heupel did his best to answer them on Monday.

Banks expected to be available for Vanderbilt Saturday night

Tennessee linebacker Jeremy Banks didn’t travel to the South Carolina and didn’t play in the Vols 63-38 loss to the Gamecocks.

Banks’ unavailability has created plenty of speculation as to why he wasn’t available. Head coach Josh Heupel said after the loss that Banks simply wasn’t available. Monday Heupel was specifically asked if Banks was suspended, got in a locker room altercation and would he be available moving forward.

“We anticipate Jeremy being with us here this week,” Heupel said. “As far as what transpired and those types of things at the end of the day he wasn’t available last Saturday.”
