The Southeastern Conference announced annual awards for the 2025 regular season Monday afternoon and Tennessee was well represented with four players earning six total honors form the league.

Junior starting pitcher Liam Doyle was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year and First-Team All-SEC for his dominant campaign in the Orange & White. This comes after the hurler was named a semifinalist for the prestigious Golden Spikes Award on Sunday.

Doyle is just the third Vol to be named SEC Pitcher of the Year, joining Luke Hochevar (2005) and Chase Dollander (2022).

The southpaw led the nation with 137 strikeouts in the regular season and tied for the most wins (9) in the Southeastern Conference. The hurler was second in the league with a 2.72 ERA and second in batting average against (.171).

In total, Doyle tossed 79.1 innings in the regular season with 14 starts over 15 appearances. He allowed 27 runs (24 earned) on 48 hits and walked just 25 batters. He yielded 18 extra base hits altogether, with seven doubles and nine home runs. Doyle racked up double-digit strikeouts in seven of his starts in the regular season.

Fellow Ole Miss transfer who hit it off in Knoxville – first baseman Andrew Fischer – was also named First-Team All-SEC. He was one of the best hitters in the league this season, leading the conference in home runs (22), slugging percentage (.779) and on-base percentage (.502). He tied for the SEC-lead with 56 walks as well.

Fischer, who was in the conversation for SEC Player of the Year, reached base safely in all 56 regular season games. The junior finished the regular season hitting .337 at the plate with 55 runs batted in and 60 runs scored – the latter two both second on the squad.

Second baseman Gavin Kilen was the third Vol to garner First-Team All-SEC honors on Monday. The Louisville transfer, who is also in his first season on Rocky Top, finished fourth in the conference in slugging percentage (.692) and ninth in batting average (.355). Kilen, who missed some time midseason with a hamstring injury, tallied 14 home runs, drove in 37 runs and scored 48 runs. The middle infielder struck out only 21 times across 172 at-bats in the regular season.

Team veteran and captain Hunter Ensley reeled in Second-Team All-SEC honors on Monday while also being named to the SEC All-Defensive Team as an outfielder. The gold glover committed one error on the year while registering a .990 fielding percentage with 93 putouts and two outfield assists.

Ensley broke out at the plate this season, leading the Volunteers with 60 RBI. He was second to Kilen with a .350 batting average while tallying the second-most at-bats on the squad with 206. The slugger homered 10 times, scored 40 runs, stole six bases and led the Vols with 16 doubles.

His 60 RBI was tied for sixth in the league. Ensley’s 72 hits tied for seventh in the SEC and his .350 batting average was good enough for 13th in the conference.

Tennessee begins play in Hoover as the No. 8 seed in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament this week. The Vols begin play on Wednesday morning at 10:30 ET (9:30 local) and will take on the winner of Tuesday’s battle between (9) Alabama and (16) Missouri. If Tennessee wins its opening matchup, it will take on No. 1 sed Texas on Thursday at 4 PM ET.
