Local legacy prospects JP Peace, Kenneth Simon react to earning offers from Tennessee

Tennessee has continued to work the recruiting trail on multiple fronts since the NCAA contact period has been open. On Monday evening, the Vols extended an offer to a pair of local legacy prospects in th3 2027 recruiting.
Bearden safety Kenneth Simon and West’s JP Peace both announced via social media they have received an offer from the Vols.
Simon is the son of former Tennessee linebacker and Director of Player Development Kevin Simon. The elder Simon was a standout for the Vols from 2001-2005 before being drafted in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.
“It means a lot knowing that my dad went there,” Kenneth Simon told Volquest of receiving the offer. “Knowing that they want me to be a part of their team and thinking that I could do something to help them in the next couple of years. I knew this one was going to be a pretty big one and get out there pretty quick. I have had people calling me. It feels good knowing that your hometown wants you to come play for them. Tennessee has been my favorite team since I could talk. I remember I was wearing Tennessee pajamas when I was like two years old. It feels good, and a bunch of my friends, family members and people I don’t talk to that much have been calling and showing me love.”
Peace is the son of former Tennessee linebacker Robert Peace, who recorded 164 tackles and 18 tackles for loss from 2000-2003. Peace is also the grandson of National Championship winning Tennessee Head Coach Phillip Fulmer.

“I mean this offer from Tennessee really means the world to me,” Peace told Volquest of receiving an offer from the Vols. “I just have to keep working now. It has been awesome because I have continued to grow my relationship with these coaches and it has been really cool with everything leading up to this.”
Peace holds offers from multiple Division 1 programs including Appalachian State, Florida State, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech, among others.
Simon holds multiple offers as well, including the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky, among others.
