Tennessee baseball listed just one player on the Thursday evening availability report ahead of this weekend’s Southeastern Conference series with Auburn at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Alberto Osuna is listed as OUT as he continues to seek eligibility for the season. A new development in his legal case took place earlier this week as his legal team has motioned the Knoxville judge for reconsideration in his preliminary injunction denial.

Pitcher Tanner Wiggins, though not listed on the report, will be unavailable as well after taking a foul ball to the jaw two weeks ago in a series against Kentucky. The incident required emergency oral surgery, but Wiggins is now back home at his apartment in Knoxville.

No. 12 Tennessee 36-9, 13-8 SEC) welcomes No. 10 Auburn (31-14, 11-10 SEC) to Knoxville for a three-game series this weekend, beginning on Friday at 6:30 pm ET form Lindsey Nelson TSadium on the SEC Network+. The two programs meet on Saturday (6 pm ET) and Sunday (1 pm ET) as well – both streamed on the SEC Network+.

Freshman RHP Brayden Krenzel, who missed the past two weekend series with Kentucky and LSU, made his return on Tuesday with a midweek start where he worked one inning. The righty will once again be counted on in the bullpen for the final three series of the regular season for the Vols.

“He’ll go to the bullpen this weekend, and that’s where he’ll be this year. For the rest of the year, he’ll be a guy that I think we have seen can get us out of a jam,” Vitello said. “And trust in him at the end of the game is not just from me, it’s from all the coaches. Doesn’t go well for whatever reason, can sleep with that just fine. And if it does go well, it’s probably because of that poise and also the good stuff.”

Vols have dropped three of last four SEC series

Tennessee dropped two of three against Kentucky at Lindsey Nelson Stadium two weekends ago, dropping its second-straight home series for the first time under Tony Vitello.

The Vols bounced back with an 11-1 run-rule win over Lipscomb on Tuesday before falling tow games to one in Baton Rouge last weekend. Tennessee played a near flawless game in the opener before committing two costly errors in the ninth that contributed to LSU walking it off with six unearned runs in the frame for the 6-3 victory.

Tennessee battled back and dominated game two of the set before falling in walk off run-rule fashion in the finale. There’s 11 games remaining in the regular season. The SEC Tournament begins May 20 at Hoover Met Stadium in Hoover, Ala.
