Miles Kitselman to be sidelined with pectoral injury

Tennessee tight end Miles Kitselman will miss extended time after suffering a pectoral injury this spring. Additionally, sources tell Volquest that Kitselman has undergone surgery to repair the injury and will begin his rehabilitation immediately once he is cleared to do so. Kitselman is expected back this fall but a definitive timeline is currently unknown.
Kitselman was the surprise addition last season. He arrived with little to no fanfare and just went to work. He drew praise from the coaches and teammates last spring and quickly established himself. He earned a starting role and became a trusty weapon for Nico Iamaleava.
He caught 22 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns. He also left a big impact with his physical play on a Tennessee running attack that broke records last fall.
Kitselman had season highs with six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown against Kentucky
He transferred from Alabama last January and was one of two tight end additions out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, alongside Holden Staes, who caught 15 passes for 131 yards and one touchdowns. Staes, a Notre Dame transfer, reentered the NCAA Transfer Portal and moved on to Indiana.
Kitselman had season highs with six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown in the win over Kentucky on November 2 at Neyland Stadium. He caught four passes for 46 yards at Georgia on November 16 and also scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Kitselman was one of three tight ends on roster this season, alongside Staes and Ethan Davis, who caught 13 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns during his redshirt freshman season. Davis will now become the most experienced player in the tight end room until Kitselman is fully back.
Redshirt freshman Cole Harrison has impressed the staff and is easing his way back in this spring after getting banged up.
Four-star tight ends DaSaahn Brame and Jack Van Dorselaer are early enrollees who will need to step up their game.
