Neyland Entertainment District takes next step forward
The vision of the Neyland Stadium Entertainment District is a step closer to reality.
The University of Tennessee announced Wednesday the next big step in the process of transforming the waterfront at Neyland Stadium by issuing its notice of intent to award the Neyland Entertainment District project to the 865 Neyland Project Team, a group consisting of experts in real estate development and sports entertainment, led by Dixon Greenwood, along with Jake Miller, Taylor Gray, the Hartland Hotel Group, and Johnson Architecture.
“We are absolutely thrilled to witness our vision for this groundbreaking project taking tangible shape,” announced Tennessee athletic director Danny White. “The development team understood our vision and designed a legacy asset that will significantly impact our campus and overall community. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming phases of this historic endeavor, which is set to influence our campus and the city of Knoxville deeply. The Neyland Entertainment District is poised to become a valuable asset to America’s College Sports City.”
The next step in the process is approval by the Tennessee State Building Commission to move forward with further planning. Once approved by the State Building Commission, the creation of specific designs and a time line for construction can be created.
The area would be anchored by a ‘condotel,’ which would be a 240-room hotel that includes 60 condos. It will also feature a rooftop restaurant, conference rooms and pool.

Surrounding that would be 175,000 square feet of an entertainment district, which would be managed by Brick + Bev, who manage numerous areas like that including The Battery in Atlanta.
The project will mean a new and full replacement of the G10 parking garage. Additional parking will be added for the entertainment district and the condotel needs to not reduce student parking.
The district will tie together Neyland Stadium and the Food City Center.
