Tennessee announces what's new at Neyland Stadium for the 2024 season
Construction is ongoing as the massive, multi-year Neyland Stadium renovation project continues, but the show must go on. The show starts Saturday when No. 15 Tennessee hosts Chattanooga in its 2024 season opener, scheduled for a 12:45 p.m. Eastern Time start on SEC Network.
Tennessee on Wednesday announced the new additions that fans can expect to see and utilize at Neyland Stadium this season, including fully functional in-stadium WiFi, new speakers and new televisions, new shopping options and new concession offerings.
“Our commitment to providing Vol Nation with the best gameday experience in the country is stronger than ever,” Executive Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Alicia Longworth said in a press release. “We continue to value the feedback of our fans as we implement new initiatives each year.”
Here are some of the details the Vols announced ahead of the new season:
Rocky Top WiFi: Tennessee debuted its partially completed in-stadium WiFi during the 2023 season. RockyTopWiFi is fully functional this season, according to the Vols, who noted that “fans are encouraged to utilize the network and stay connected on their mobile devices during the game.”
Upgraded Speakers: The upper portions of Neyland’s lower bowl, beneath the upper-deck overhang, have what Tennessee described as “new, enhanced speakers.”
New TVs: New televisions are in the stadium along the north and east concourse on Level 1 as well as in the east and south concourse on Level 3. The inside of Gate 21 also has new TVs, along with the NIL Vol Shop inside Gate 24.
Vintage Volunteer Shop: The VolShop has a new ‘Vintage Volunteer Shop’ inside the Truly’s Tailgate located outside Gate 9. “Classic gamey merchandise with all (the fans’) favorite marks and logos” will be available for purchase, according to Tennessee. Truly’s Tailgate opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and closes at the end of the third quarter.
