Nic Moore

2025 four-star Jefferson County (Tenn.) offensive lineman Nic Moore has officially signed with the Vols during the early signing period. The On300 prospect signed his letter intent with family and friends gathered around during a ceremony at his high school. Now, he is just ten days away from enrolling at Tennessee and getting the next chapter of his football career started.

“”This season at Jefferson County, I feel like I instilled some confidence into some of the younger players, which is kind of my biggest goal,” Moore told Volquest about what he felt like he achieved during his senior campaign. “I wanted to make sure I left Jefferson County with just a little bit more than a blocker for four years. I wanted to make sure I left them with something that can be in their program, so I made sure to encourage all of their young athletes and tell them how much potential they have and to keep working hard. I just wanted to make sure I gave them the vote of confidence they can look up to.”

Moore finished off a strong career at Jefferson County last month, and there is a lot of excitement for him to be able to get his career started on Rocky Top.

“It’s an exciting adventure that we are going through right now in the off-season,” he said of this. “Part of me is preparing for the next chapter and trying mentally wrap my mind around the fact that so many people I have looked up to for so long are going to be my teammates in less than a month. It is a little bit of a different feeling whenever you get to watch these people on TV, and now being one of these people who are going to be on TV is just a whole different maturity mindset that I have to adopt and get ready for.”

As an early enrollee, Moore will get his career started later in the month on December 14th. He is excited to get his feet wet as he enters the program, but he is also looking to soak in as much information in a short amount of time as he can.

“I just want to take the entire experience and remember this is my last freshman year that I will get to have,” Moore said of this. “I just want to soak in, not only just the team, but the environment of Rocky Top as a whole. As we go through the time at bowl practice, I want to be able to soak in the playbook, get some knowledge from people who are probably going to the draft such as Cooper Mays, and I want to be able to start to make some friendships that will last forever. For the coaching staff, I want to prove that I am who they project me to be because, obviously, they wouldn’t have offered me if they didn’t think I was a good enough player to play at Tennessee, and I want to excel at Tennessee. I want to prove that I can be the best and can go in and try to make an impact on the field.”

The Scout on Moore

“First and foremost, they are getting a great young man,” Former Vol and current Jefferson County Head Coach Spencer Riley told Volquest about Moore in June. “As a football player, he is a support smart kid that understands the game. He will do a good job picking up the offense. Super smart. He is physical and a football kid at the end of the day. As a junior, the light switch came on and the physicality was unmatched. It was just fun to watch him be physical on people that were as big as he is. He is a great kid that comes from a great family.
