Due to the forecast of inclement weather in Hoover, Ala. area Saturday afternoon, start time for Tennessee and Vanderbilt has been moved up two hours to 11 o’clock ET Saturday morning.

The original game time for No. 8 Tennessee and No. 4 Vanderbilt was slated for 1 o’clock ET Saturday afternoon with the second semifinal contest slated for 4:30 PM ET. Now, the second game will take place 30 minutes following the conclusion of Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Sunday’s Southeastern Conference Tournament is still scheduled for 3 PM ET.

The game will remain televised on the SEC Network.

Tennessee is off to a 2-0 start in Hoover this week with wins over No. 9 seed Alabama and No. 1 seed Texas to reach the semifinal round.

The Vols overcame a two-run throwing error that briefly forfeited the lead in the fifth inning on Wednesday against the Tide en route to a season-high 20 hits for the 15-10 win. Tennessee erased an early 4-0 deficit on Thursday against the top-ranked Longhorns to win in 12 innings at 7-5.

This will be the second-straight season Tennessee takes on Vanderbilt in the semifinal round of the SEC Tournament and the fourth time the Vols have played in the round under Tony Vitello.

Tennessee moved up to host line by several publications

D1Baseball.com on Friday moved Tennessee up to the No. 15 overall seed in its updated Field of 64 projections, putting the Vols back in position to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament.

The move came after Tennessee, the No. 8 seed in the SEC Tournament, beat No. 1-seed Texas 7-5 in 12 innings on Thursday. The Vols beat No. 9 Alabama 15-10 to open their postseason on Wednesday.

D1Baseball.com now has Tennessee as the No. 15 national seed, hosting No. 2 West Virginia, No. 3 Miami and No. 4 Miami (Ohio) in the Knoxville Regional at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Arkansas was the No. 2 national seed, opposite of the Vols.

11.7 College Baseball has Tennessee as the No. 12 seed, hosting No. 2 West Virginia, No. 3 ETSU and No. 4 Murray State. 11.7 noted on social media on Friday morning that the Vols win “the (head-to-head) argument vs Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama with Top 10 RPI.”

Tennessee is now No. 10 in RPI, while Alabama is No. 12, Florida is No. 16 and Ole Miss is No. 17.
