Tennessee assistants Rodney Garner and Jerry Mack discuss their position group and Alabama
Tennessee’s defensive line recorded 27 tackles including 5 sacks in Saturday’s 40-13 win over LSU. Vol defensive line coach Rodney Garner is playing 12 defensive linemen consistently and in Baton Rouge no one played more than 53 snaps in the game.
Garner said there’s plenty of work to do for his growing defensive front who faces a big test on Saturday against Alabama.
Tennessee running backs coach Jerry Mack saw Jabari Small became the first tailbacks to rush for over 100 yards against the LSU defense and the Vol run game was terrific in rushing for 263 yards. Saturday will be another big challenge for the Vols run game, but Mack likes the growth of his group.
