Tennessee baseball’s first midweek contest of the season has been moved up 30 minutes due to frigid temperatures in the evening forecast in the Knoxville area.

The Vols (3-0) and UNCA Asheville (3-0) will now begin at 4 o’clock eastern time from Lindsey Nelson Stadium instead of the previously scheduled 4:30 pm ET first pitch.

“Due to incoming weather and dropping temperatures this evening, first pitch for tonight’s game against UA Asheville has been moved up by 30 minutes and will be at 4 p.m. ET,” a university press release announced at noon.

The Vols swept Hofstra in three run-rule contests to begin the season, outscoring the Pride 46-2, while the Bulldogs handled Fairleigh Dickinson in a season-opening sweep themselves. UT leads the all-time series between the two programs 32-7, including a 3-2 victory last season on February 20.

Left-handed hurler Brandon Arvidson is the projected starter for Tennessee on the mound. The former JUCO transfer tossed a clean inning of relief in Saturday’s 18-1 win over the Pride, making his Tennessee debut. Righty Branden Barna, who also pitched this past weekend, will counter Arvidson for UNC Asheville.
