Tennessee third baseman Billy Amick is officially a member of the Minnesota Twins organization as he put pen to paper Wednesday evening after being selected No. 60 overall in the second round of last week’s 2024 Major League Baseball Draft.

According to MLB.com’s Jim Callis, Amick signed for $1,453,700, which is the full-slot value for that draft selection. With the third baseman’s signing, all eight of Tennessee’s 2024 draft picks have officially signed with the professional organizations who drafted them.

Amick was ranked 32nd overall in the final rendition of MLB.com’s Draft Prospects for the 2024 showcase and 29th overall by Baseball America. His lone season at Tennessee was a major success after coming over via the transfer portal last summer from Clemson. The third baseman logged 23 homers, drove in 65 runs and hit for a .306 batting average. He did miss eight games midway through the season.

The Batesburg, South Carolina, native was tabbed a first-team midseason All-American by Perfect Game and was named the SEC Player of the Week on March 4. At Clemson, he was an All-American and All-ACC selection as a sophomore in 2023.

Amick was the third of Tennessee’s eight draft selections overall. Christian Moore was selected eighth overall by the Los Angeles Angels and Blake Burke was grabbed later in the first round at No. 34 by the Milwaukee Brewers. Dylan Dreiling was picked up by the Texas Rangers five slots after Amick in the second round while Drew Beam was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the third round.
