Tennessee baseball earns commitment from Kruz Schoolcraft, No. 8 overall player in 2025 class
Tony Vitello, Josh Elander and the Tennessee baseball team continue to recruit at an elite level as another top-10 prospect joined the 2025 class on Friday. Kruz Schoolcraft joins the class as he is rated as the No. 8 overall player and No. 1 left-handed pitcher, according to Perfect Game.
The southpaw was on campus for an official visit the weekend of the Third Saturday in October when the Vols’ football team defeated Alabama. He’s projected to be a top-10 player in the 2025 MLB Draft and chose Tennessee over the likes of Texas A&M, Florida, Oregon State, Oregon and many more. Schoolcraft is a huge draft risk.

Tennessee is currently ranked third in the county in 2025, behind LSU and Texas, with 24 total commits and six in the top-100. It’s worth noting that the Perfect Games team rankings have not been updated since the recent commitment.
Schoolcraft joins fellow top-10 Tennessee commit Billy Carlson in the class. Here’s some more information on the new Tennessee baseball commitment. To get things started, he can hit 97 miles per hour form the left side and displays serious power potential in the box.

Quick PG Scouting Report: Re-classified from 2026 class. Ultra high ceiling talent. Up to 97 mph on the mound plus secondary. Also top of the scale power at the plate.
2024 National Showcase (PG Report): Kruz Schoolcraft is a 2025 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-8 215 lb. frame from Beaverton, OR who attends Sunset. Huge athletic body with length and strength. Full arm action in back with a fast arm coming through, low effort mechanics, lots of arms and legs for a hitter to deal with and find the ball. Steady mid 90’s fastball that tops out at 97 mph, throws his fastball to spots to the glove side. Upper 80’s slider had short biting action and was thrown to spots as well. Also threw a big fading mid-80’s change up with up to 18″ of horizontal life. Very high ceiling on the mound. Left handed hitter, has big impact bat speed and impacts the ball hard with easy juice, loved over 104 mph exit velos in batting practice, top of the scale raw power. Good student, yet to commit after re-classifying to the 2025 class. Selected to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
